The Haifa Port is one the country's 2 largest marine installations. The port is serving a wide variety of cargo types, such as: containers, bulk cargo, oil tankers and general cargo, as well as passenger cruise vessels. The port is located in the downtown area of the city, with storage and cargo handling rear areas in the east, as well as additional areas reserved for future expansion.

The KISHON Port, an integral part of the Haifa Port, is located at the estuary of the KISHON River. It has been mainly serving fishermen small vessels and was also designated for a yacht marina.
In the early 1990s the Israel Ports Authority decided to rehabilitate and expand the existing KISHON facility, as an introductory stage for further development of the area for commerce, entertainment and recreation.
