The town of YAVNE , located approximately 20 km south to the city of Tel Aviv , is a part of the Greater Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area. The town is an important industrial and commercial center, with many high-tech and "clean" storage parks and facilities. In the framework of the project presented here TEDEM performed a detailed design of the entire physical infrastructure of 2 industrial parks, designated for the ORBOTECH high-tech manufacturer and other related industries. Out of the approximately 15 acres of the parks' area (about 50%) was dedicated to parking and maneuvering areas.

Following client's guidelines, the entire park's surface was covered with interlocking paving blocks, laid on sandy soil – characteristic to this region – covered with sub-base layers. The requirement to use interlocking blocks was motivated by: (a) applying a cleaner appearance and, (b) enabling an easy maintenance access to underground facilities without damaging the paved surface.

The design had to cope with an adjacent major underground infrastructure facility on a national scale, namely the National Water Carrier (over 40" in diameter).
